Fiancée of slain reporter Dylan Lyons aims to raise $50K to have his baby

The “forever heartbroken” fiancée of slain Florida journalist Dylan Lyons is hoping to raise $50,000 to have his baby — revealing she harvested his sperm hours after he was gunned down.

“Dylan and I wanted nothing more than to get married and have children,” Casey Fite wrote of “the love of [her] life” who “was ambushed and murdered while covering” a previous fatal shooting in Orlando in February.

“The night he passed away, I researched about harvesting his sperm,” she said, recounting that she finally found someone “who was able to perform the procedure within the 24-hour period.”

“The doctor was able to retrieve 8 vials of his sperm, and I am going to do IVF to have the baby we so desperately wanted to have together,” she wrote.

Fite said she’s “devastated” the 24-year-old Spectrum 13 News reporter “can’t be here for what we always wanted.”

“Dylan would have been the best dad in the world,” she said, noting the couple wanted three kids — and had already picked out names.

As of Friday morning, Fite HAD raised only $1,238 of her $50,000 goal to “keep my Dylan’s legacy alive.”

Lyons was shot, and another News 13 co-worker injured, while covering an earlier fatal shooting of a 20-year-old woman, allegedly by the same gunman.

The 19-year-old suspect, Keith Melvin Moses, also is accused of bursting into a nearby house and fatally shooting 9-year-old T’yonna Major, who cried out to her sleeping mom: “He shot me!”

In her IVF fundraiser, Fite spoke movingly of meeting Lyons in 2020, when they both worked in Gainesville, his first TV job.

“From the moment I met Dylan I knew he was someone special and was the most handsome man I ever saw,” she said.

“We had our entire lives planned.”

She cited proof of “the type of man my Dylan was” by his willingness, though a vegan, to take his love to any restaurant that made her “happy.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life, and I am forever heartbroken,” she said.
