Philadelphia cop shoots, kills dog as pack of four canines mauls man in street: video

A Philadelphia cop shot and killed a Cane Corso as the dog and three others were mauling a man on the street Wednesday morning, according to police.

The officer was on patrol in the city’s Mantua neighborhood around 10:15 a.m. when he was flagged down and told that there were four dogs running loose in the area, police said.

At the corner of Fairmount Avenue and Fairmount Street, the officer saw the canines — a Cane Corso and three pit bulls — attacking a 53-year-old man.

Disturbing video circulating on social media shows the animals run up and start to maul the victim who was standing on a street corner, taking him to the ground.

A police cruiser can be heard blasting its siren “to distract the dogs” but to no avail, cops said.

Desperate bystanders can be seen trying to shoo the beasts away, only to be chased off as a police cruiser pulls right up.

The officer gets out of the car with his gun drawn as the dogs continue to tear at the helpless victim.

“Shoot those motherf—kers, police!” one man can be heard yelling.

The cop fires several shots and a dog can be heard crying out. The largest dog — the Cane Corso — runs away before falling over.

The three pit bulls, one of which could be seen limping, took off.

The victim suffered bite wounds throughout his body and was taken to Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, according to police.

The officer was not injured.
